"I worked at the Toowoomba Hospice for four years as a registered nurse, before retiring in 2008. During those years I realized how valuable the volunteers were for the nursing staff and decided to continue my involvement with the hospice as a volunteer. I have found this very rewarding and have met many wonderful people. There has been changes but the care, love and compassion shown to patients and families. It has always been a privilege and a pleasure to be part of the Hospice and I plan to continue as a volunteer for as long as I possibly can."

"I wanted to volunteer because I counldn't when I was working, and I knew the Hospice had a wonderful reputation and still does. I am based at the reception once a week and also help with fundraising. It's a great place to work. There's a positive yet relaxed vibe and a real sense of belonging in a community of carers, where each person's contribution to that care is real, is valued and matters. Volunteers are respected and are given flexibility that many of us need. If you would like to give back, then i unreservedly recommend the Hospice! ."

"Hi My name is Will and approx 5 years ago I was accepted into the Hospice Family as a Volunteer/Helper.
Every day since I learn something more about the Human condition and I also learn about giving back by respecting those less fortunate than myself. My Coordinator certainly has her hands full & We all could do with fellow thinking people with their hearts in the right place. Age is no barrier and the personal satisfaction found by helping others is not only rewarding but essential to this wonderful place performing the greatest things any of us could hope for, "Caring". Come and have a go, like Me, you'll never regret it."
Will
"It is so rewarding to think that I can give back to the Hospice and pay forward to another family that gift of time with their loved ones. I encourage anyone that can give up their time to contact the Hospice to have a chat and see how you can help. You wont regret it."
