Director of Nursing

The Toowomba Hospice employes a multi-disciplinary team approach to client centred care. Part of that team is the clinical care staff. These are the nurses, carers and management team dedicated to providing the best quality health care to our clients. The clinical team is lead by our Director of Nursing (DON), Eugenie. Please see below for a note from our DON.

A Note for our Director of Nursing: Mrs Eugenie Corbett

On behalf of the team, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your family to the Toowoomba Hospice. We genuinely look forward to meeting you to provide the best possible care during your time with us.

We understand that the decision to come to Hospice can be a difficult and emotional time for you and your family. Our aim is to work with you, your family and loved ones to ensure your wishes are known so we can provide you with the best care possible. You and your family will be central to decision-making about your treatment and care. Sometimes, in rapidly changing and urgent situations we may need to act quickly. In such cases, we make sure you (and your decision-makers) are kept informed of what is happening as soon as is practicable. You and your family will be cared for by a team of health professionals who work with you to make sure you get the best care and support possible. Your medical care is provided by one of our our local GP’s, Nurse Practitioner, Palliative Care Specialists or Physicians. If you would like your own (home) GP to care for you whilst at Hospice and they are willing to do so, please let us know so we can arrange that to happen. We also have a dedicated team of volunteers to support you and your family during your stay with us. We have prepared this booklet to provide you with information about the Toowoomba Hospice, your care team and what you can expect during your stay with us. Your feedback is very

the highest quality of care.
